IN LOVE and STRUGGLE

In Love and Struggle: A Black Woman Grows in America, is a work exploring the real lives of Black women at every age; 11 women, ages 17 to 90, share stories about love, work, microaggressions, mothering, and just being. In Love and Struggle was released as an Audible Original features.

Working closely with the director, I took the raw material provided by the women in the form of interviews, testimonials and writing and shaped the most compelling into rich narratives. The stories were weaved together to form the sound of a chorus. The scripts were then performed by the women themselves and turned into an audio piece for Audible.
